George Henry Hunt was born in 1886 at Nottingham he was the son of George Henry a bill distributor and Rebecca Hunt nee Wells Freeman and the brother of Sarah Ann Hunt.
His father George Henry was born in 1842 at Caunton, his mother Rebecca Wells Freeman was born in1861 at Bran Broughton, Lincolnshire they were married in 1880 their marriage was recorded in the Newark Registration district,
In the 1911 census the family lived at 56 Beverley Street St Ann's Nottingham his father 69 yrs is an army pensioner, he is living with his wife Rebecca 50 years and their children George Henry 25 yrs an assistant hosiery manager and Sarah Ann 29 yrs a hosiery worker.
George Henry married Pollie Higton (born on 30th December 1887) on 12th July 1913 at St Anns, who later lived at 20 Pole Street Sycamore Road St Ann's Nottingham.
Commencing 2nd December 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and pence a week.

Lance Bombadier George Henry Hunt enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 51st Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, he died of wounds on 31st May 1918 and is buried at St Sever Military Cemetery Rouen, France.
