Arthur Henry Harpham was born in 1885 at Selston he was the grandson of William and Sarah Ann Harpham, of Selston.
In the 1891 Census he was living with his mother, Clara, and step-father Thomas Chambers.
In the 1901 census he was living with his paternal grandparentsIn the 1911 census he was with the Army in barracks at Hong Kong, he was 25 yrs of age and is with the 1st battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry
Military history
Private Arthur Henry Harpham, enlisted at Nottingham and served 2nd Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He landed in France on 10th August 1914 and was killed in action on 30th August 1914. He is commemorated on La Ferte-sous-Jouarre Memorial.
