Family History
He was the son of William and Florence Foster and the brother of Ada, Lizzie, Annie, Jack and Polly Foster. They lived at 25 Norland Road, Hungerhill Road, St Ann's, Nottingham.
At the time of William's death his parents were living at 40 Cathcart Street, Nottingham.
Military History
William served in the 9th Bn Sherwood Foresters.
He was killed in action on 17 July 1917 and is buried in Essex Farm Cemetery, Belgium (grave ref. I.P.2).
