Family history

He was the son of Charles Frederick and Annie Flinders and the brother of William, Nellie (Rose Ellen) and Lily Hall. The family lived at 10 Hermit Street in 1911 and later at 31 Whittier Road, Colwick Road, (both Sneinton Nottingham).

George was serving at Normanton Barracks, Derby in 1911 as a Special Reservist.

His next okin at the time of hs death was his sister Rose Ellen Hallam of 31 Whittier Road, Nottingham.

Military history

Private George Frederick Hall was serving with the Sherwood Foresters (militia) when he enlisted at Derby on 4th July 1911. He stood 5'4" tall and weighed 113 lbs he was 18 years and 6 months old, he was an outdoor porter. . He arrived in France on 15th January 1915, he was killed in action on 23rd April 1915 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Menin Gate Panels 36 & 55
