Bernard Keeton was born in 1886 at Nottingham he was the only son of George Keeton a lace curtain maker and Fanny Martin of 13 Malton Terrace, Malton Street, Nottingham.

His father George was born in 1858 at Nottingham, his mother Fanny Martin was born in 1860 at Nottingham, they were married and in the 1911 census the family are living at 13 Malton Terrace, Malton Street, Nottingham George 53 yrs is a lace curtain maker he is living with his wife Fanny 51 yrs and their son Bernard 24 yrs a laundry amn

Bernard was the husband of Hannah Potts they were maried on 20th July 1912 at St Stephens Church, Sneinton, Nottingham,they lived at 25 Rutland Road, Meadows Nottingham.they had a son Bernard George born 20th January 1913.

Military history

Bernard Keeton enlisted on 18th December 1915 at Nottingham, giving his address as 25 Rutland Road, Nottingham, his age was 29 yrs and 9 months he was a laundryman, he was posted to the reserves. He was mobilised for war on 1st March 1917 and posted to the Royal Army Service Corps at Grove Park. He embarled from Suthampton on 18th June 1917 travelling via Le Harve to Marseille and dismbarked on 6th July 1917 at Alexandria, he was serving with the Desert Mounted Corps Motor Ambulance Convoy when he was admitted to the 31st casualty station at Allepo, Egypt, on 19th August 1919 sufffering from diarrhoea he died on 21st August 1919 of malaria.. He is buried in Beirut War Cemetery, Lebanon
