Joseph Andrew Harrison was born on 11th June 1888 at Nottingham, he was baptised on 3rd February 1888 at St Marys Church, Notingham, he was the son of Joseph Harrison a labourer and Mary Harrison, née Bushrod who were living at Rose Yard, Bellar Gate, Nottingham, at the time of Joseph Andrew Harrison baptisum.

His father Joseph Harrison was born in 1853 at Sneinton, his mother Mary Bushrod was born in 1860 at Nottingham, they were married on 12th July 1879 at St Mary's Church, Nottingham, they went on to have 12 children.

In the 1911 census Joseph is in barracks in India, he is serving with the 1st battalion Warwickshire Regiment, he is 23 yrs old,

He lived at 45 Waterway Street, Meadows Nottingham.

Military history

Lance Corporal Joseph Andrew Harrison enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 1st battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 5th January 1916 he is buried at Surerie Military Cemetery, Colincamps, France
