George Southgate was born in 1888 at Nottingham he was the husband of Mary E Wheatley (born 21st January 1888 ) whom he married in 1914 at Nottingham, they lived at 20 Dame Agnes Street Nottingham.

Commencing 4th April 1916 his widow was awarded a pension of 15 shillings a week.

Military history

Corporal George Cooper served with the 49th Reserve Bty, Royal Filed Artillery, he died on 14th April 1916 he was buried on 20th April 1916 at Nottingham
