Oscar Augustas Fletcher was born in 1884 at Lenton, he was the son of William a leather assesor and the late Tamer Fletcher née Robinson of Montpelier Road, Old Lenton, Nottingham
His father William was born in 1845 at Lenton, his mother Tamer Robinson was born in 1845 in Wales she died in 1888 at Nottingham she was 38 yrs of age, they were married in 1869 at Nottingham, they went on to have 10 children.
In the 1911 census his widowed father is living at 56 Montpelier Road, Lenton, he is shown as William 64 yrs and a leather assesor, he is living with his married daughter Eliza Scothen 31 yrs a machinist and a widow and his grand daughter Hilda Florence Fletcher 12 yrs a scholar.
Oscar was the husband of Louisa Emily Collier born 1st May 1880 they were married in 1912 at Dartford, Kent and they lived at Dunkirk Nottingham.
Commencing 14th June 1915 his widow was awarded a pension of 12 shillings and 6 pence a week.
Private Oscar Fletcher enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2nd battalion Grenadier Guards, he was killed in action on 16th September 1914, he is buried at Soupir Communal Cemetery, France.
