Family history

William Henry Good was born on 21st January 1888 at Nottingham, he was baptised on 19th February 1888 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late Bartholomew a frame work knitter and Mary Ann Good née Allen and the brother of Emma and Annie Good.

His father Bartholomew was born in 1840 he died in 1896 aged 56 yrs, his mother Mary Ann Allen was born in 1850 at Nottingham, they were married on 25th December 1867 at St Mary's church , Nottingham. they had 10 children, sadly 1 died in infancy or early childhood.

In 1911 census the family lived at 15 Frederick Terrace Livingstone Street and later on Ridgewayy Street (both St Ann's Nottingham). Mary Ann 61 years alace hand is living with her children William 23 yrs a carriage finisher and Emma 20 yrs a lace jennier.

Military history

Private William Henry Good enlisted on 9th November 1914 at Nottingham he served with the 1st battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment he went to France 18th March 1915 and was killed in action during the attack on Rouge De Bout, France, 9th May 1915 during the Second Battle of Artois. Having no know grave his name is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium. Addenda Panel.
