Military history

Sapper William Edward Humphreys enlisted at Nottingham, whilst residing at Bulweel he served with the 96th Light Railway Operating Company, Royal Engineers, he died by drowning on 30th December 1917, he is commemorated on the Alexandria (Hadra) war memorial cemetery, Egypt.
