Family history

William Jackson was born on 9th December 1893 at Manfield, he was the son of Edwin s stone mason and Elizabeth Jackson née Hall Hibbs, and the brother of Edwin Leslie, Gertrude Mary and Harold Jackson.

His father Edwin was born in 1872 at Bulwell his mother Elizabeth Hall Hibbs was born in 1865 at Bradwell, Derbyshire, they were married on 1st June 1893 at Christ Church, Pitsmore, Sheffiled, they went on to have 4 children.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 65 Clarges Street Bulwell Nottingham, Edwin 39 yrs is a stone mason he is living with his wife Elizabeth 46 yrs and their children, William 17 yrs a joiner, Edwin Leslie 10 yrs, Gertrude Mary 5 yrs and Harold 3 yrs

Military history

Sergeant Mechanic William Jackson enlisted into the Royal Air Force on 16th July 1915, he died in Nottingham's Albert Hall Military Hospital from influenza on 24th November 1918, he is buried in the Nottingham Northern Cemetery.
