Frank Wilfred Twinn was born in 1896 at Nottingham, he was the son of Frank a lithograph artist and Mary Ann Twinn nee Cawthorne and the brother of Dorothy Marguerite and Jessie Mary Twin. of 41 Croydon Road, Radford, Nottingham.

His father Frank was born in 187 at Nottingham, his mother Mary Ann Cawthorne born 1867 at Nottingham, they were married in 1889 at Nottingham, they had 3 children.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 25 Watkin Street, Kirkwhite Street, Meadows Nottingham. Frank 44 yrs is a lithograph artist is living with his wife Mary Ann 44 yrs and their children, Dorothy Marjory 20 yrs an assistant overlooker , Frank Wilfred 15 yrs a lithographic artisit assistant and Jessie Mary 8 yrs.

Military history

Lance Corporal Frank Wilfred Twin enlisted at Nottingham, he initially seved with the service number 2285 in the South Notts Hussars, he later transferred to the 1/6th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 3rd October 1918 in France, he is buried at Ramicourt British Cemetery, France.

He was awarded a Military Medal.
