Harold Easom was born in 1892 at Nottingham, he was the son of Frank Arthur a cashier and Catherine Annie Easom nee Haddon of 38 Wiverton Road Sherwood Rise Nottingham.
His father Frank Arthur was born in 1870 at Lincoln, his mother Catherine Annie Haddon was born in 1871 at Nottingham, they were married in 1892 at Nottingham, they had 4 children, sadly1 was to die in infancy or early childhood, their other children were Dorothy born 1898 and Arthur born 1906.
In the 1911 census the family are living at 21 Exeter Road, Nottingham, Frank Arthur 41 yrs is a cahsier, he is living with his wife Annie 40 yrs and their children, Harold 18 yrs a clerk, Dorothy 13 yrs a scholar and Arthur 5 yrs of age.
Lance Corporal Harold Easom enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 1st battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 1 October 1918 and is buried in Brie British Cemetery, France (grave ref. III.E.9).
The history of the Cemetery might mean that Harold's grave was brought in after the Armistice from either the battlefields east and south of Brie or from one of two cemeteries. (CWGC link for further information).

Bertha Elizabeth who died May 2nd 1886 in her 15th year. Also Mary Jane who died April 26th 1896 in her 14th year. Also Harry their beloved son, who died April 30th 1900 aged 22 years. Far from a world of grief and sin with God eternally shut in. Also L/C Harold Easom (Notts & Derby Regt.) the beloved grandson of above, killed in action in France Octr. 1st 1918, aged 26 years. A noble life laid down. Also Frederick Charles Easom grandchild of the above, who died (-) 11th 1897 aged 4 months.'
