Family history

Thomas Henry Wheatcroft was born in 1888 at Brampton, Derbyshire, he was the son of John Henry an iron foundry labourer and Selina Wheatcroft née Church of Brampton, Chesterfield.

His father John Henry Wheatcroft was born in 1859 at Brampton, his mother Selina Church was born in 1862 at Coseley, Staffordshire, they were married in 1882 at Dudley, Staffordshire, they had 7 children.

Thomas Henry married Edith Mary Munson (born 12th May 1887 at Woodgreen, London) they were married in 1908 at Nottingham, they lived at 23 Sedgley Avenue Sneinton Nottingham, they had 2 children, John Henry born 13th August 1908 and Oscar Munson born 1st June 1911.

Commencing 17th March 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and five pence a week.

Military history

Private Thomas Henry Wheatcroft enlisted at Nottingham he served with the 7th battalion Royal West Kent Regiment, he was killed in action on 23rd August 1918, he is buried at Albert Communal Cemetery extension, France.
