Family history

Frederick Robert Goodger was born in 1894 at Lincoln, he was the son of Frederick a casting fitter and Rosa Goodger née Passmore and the brother of Rosa, Robert, Lily, Alice and Grace Goodger.

His father Frederick was born in 1866 in Lincoln his mother Rosa Passmore was born in 1869 at Chard, Somerset, they were married on 25th Decemebr 1887 at St Ann's, Notitingham, they had 9 children, sadly 3 were to die in infancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 72 Union Road, Nottingha, Frederick 44 yrs a casting fitter is livingwith his wife Rosa 42 yrs and their children, Rosa 22 yrs a lace dresser, Frederick 17 yrs a saddler, Robert 14 yrs an errand boy, Lilley 15 yrs a blouse maker Alice 9 yrs and Grace Evelyn 2 years of age.

Frederick Robert married Jenny Clarke (born 5th March 1897) they were married on 31st July 1915 at St John's church, Holbeck, Yorkshire. they had 2 children, Teddy born 16th October 1916 and Frederick born 17th Januaary 1918, they lived at Jack Lane, Leeds.

Commencing 3rd March 19191 his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence a week.

Military history

Private Frederick Robert Goodger enlisted at Lincoln, he served with the West Yorkshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 14th August 1918
