Frederick George Shearwood was born in 1891 at Liverpool he was the son of the late Joseph HIram Shearwood a book keeper and the late Anne Ellen Shearwood née Hornby of Liverpool.
His father Joseph Hiram Shearwood was born in 1854 at Barton on Humber, Lincolnshire, he died in 1889 aged 44 yrs at Anfield, his mother Anne Ellen Hornby was born in 1865 at Kirkdale, Liverpool, she died in 1908 aged 43 yrs, they were married on 7th May 1878 atTimothys Church, Everton
In the 1911 census Frederick George Shearwood is 20 yrs of age and is a commercial traveller, he is boarding at 16 East Street, Nottingham with Ernest Sutherland 38 yrs a licensed brooker and his family.
Frederick George was the husband of Fanny Whitworth born 18th August 1893 they were married in 1911 at Nottingham, they had a daughter Fanny Ethel Ellen born 30h June 1912. they lived at 10 Duncome Street St Ann's well Road Nottingham.
Commencing 11th November 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week.
Private Frederick George Shearwood enlisted at Nottingham he initially serve with the Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment later trasferring to the 6th battalion Kings Shropshire Light Infantry, he died of wounds 9gun shot wound to his back) on 24th March 1918 at 46th casualty clearing station France. He is buried at Noyon British Cemetery, France.
Nottingham Evening Post Roll of Honour 13th May 1918 :-
'Shearwood. Died of wounds on March 24th 1918, FG Shearwood, KSLI, aged 27, the dearly loved husband of Fanny Shearwood, 10 Duncombe Street. - Deeply mourned by his sorrowing wife and little daughter.'
