Harry Eaton was born in 1881 at Trowell, Nottingham, he was the son of the late Allan Eaton a ginger beer manufacturer and Jane Hampson.
His father Allan was born in 1852 at Trowell he died in 1893 aged 41 yrs, his mother Jane Hampson was born in Nottingham, they were married on 12th February 1876 at St Anns.
He was the husband of Elizabeth Foster) (born 11th July 1875) they were married on 15th September 1906 at St Saviours Church, Nottingham and the father of Ethel born 26th August 1907, Sidney born 7th November 1910 and Ernest born 13th December 1913, they lived at 24 Sutton Street, Meadow Lane, Nottingham.
In 1911 they lived at 22 Blackstone Street Waterway Street Meadows Nottingham Harry Eaton 29 yrs is a colliery onsetter, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 35 yrs and their children, Ethel 4 yrs and Sidney 5 months old.
Commencing 30th July 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 26 shiilings and 3 pence a week.
Private Harry Eaton, enlisted at Nottingham on 10th December 1915, his address was 24 Sutton Street, Meadow Lane, Nottingham, he was 33 rs and 11 months old, he was a colliery onsetter, posted to the reserves he was called up for duty on 31st March 1916 at Derby, he initially served with the 7th battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he was transferred to the 1/5th battalion West Riding Regiment on 24th August 1916, he embarked from Folkstone on the same day landing at Boulogne the following day. He died of wounds on 19th January 1917, he is buried art Walincourt Halte British Cemetery, Saulty, France.
