Family history

Ferederick William Brown was born in 1895 at Keyworth he was the son of Thomas a frame work knitter and later a stationary worker and Emma Brown née Smith and the brother of Annie and Arthur Brown.

His father Thomas was born in 1869 at Keyworth his mother Emma Smth was born in 1869 at Broughton Sulney, Nottinghamshire they were married in 1889 their marriage was recorded in the Loughborough registration district, they wnet on to have 5 children, sadly 1was to die ininfancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 39 Rye Hill Cottages Kirkwhite Street Meadows Nottingham Thomas Brown 41 yrs is a stationary worker, he is living with his wife Emma 41 yrs and their children, Annie 17 yrs a lace worker, Frederick 15 yrs an errand boy and Arthur 6yrs a scholar.

Military history

Lance Corporal Frederick William Brown enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the Ammunition Train, Army Ordnance Corps, he was killed in action on 14th August 1916 and is buried at Caetre Communal Cemetery, France.
