Henry Claudian Taylor was born on 23rd February 1891 at Nottingham, he was the son of Arthur Timms a lace dresser and Elizabeth Taylor (née Charlton)

Arthur Timms Taylor was born in 1864 at Nottingham, Elizabeth Charlton in 1865 also at Nottinghamthey were married on 25th May 1885 at St Andrews Church, Nottingham, they had 5 children.

He was the brother of Ethel b.1886, Mable b.1889, Harold and Elsie b.1896 Taylor.

In 1901 they lived at 53 Vicarage Street Huntingdon Street, Nottingham

In the 1911 census the family lived at 21 Woodborough Road Nottingham, Arthur 46 yrs is a lace worker, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 45 yrs and their children, Harry 20 yrs a lace stainer, Harod 17 yrs a postman and Elsie 15 yrs a blouse machinist.

Henry Claudian Taylor married Edith Cox (born 18th April 1893) they were married on 3rd April 1915 at Christ Church, Radford, they lived at 8 Alfred Street, Boden Street, Nottingham they had a son Robert Arthur born 16th January 1916,

Commencing 3rd September 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military history

Private Henry Claudian Taylor enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 10th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 13th February 1917 and is buried in Sailly-Saillisel British Cemetery, Somme, France, Grave Reference: VI A 9.
