Family history

Ernest Warsop was born in 1877 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late William Warsop a tailor and the late Martha Warsop née Love of Little John Street, Nottingham.

His father William was born in 1845 in Nottingham he died in 1908 aged 63 yrs, his mother Martha Love was born in 1845 at Nottingham she died in 1911 aged 66 yrs, they were married on 26th December 1864 at St Pauls Church, Nottingham, they had 4 children.

Ernest was the husband of Isabella Hodge (born 2nd October 1878,) they were married on 25th December 1896 at St Ann's, Nottingham they had 4 children, Alice born 1898 Frederick, born 1902 Isabella born 1903 and Thomas Warsop born 1906

In the 1911 census the family lived at 10 Swanwick Street St Ann's Well Road Nottingham, Ernest 34 yrs is a card board box maker, he is living with his wife Isabella 33 yrs a lace mender and their children, Alice 13 yrs, Frederick 10 yrs, Isabella 8 yrs and Thomas 5 yrs of age.

Commencing 8th April 1918 his widow was awarded a pension fo 22 shillings and 11 pence a week.

Military history

Air Mechanic Ernest Warsop served with the Central Flying School, Royal Flyiing Corps, he died on 3rd October 1917 at the Military Hospital Tidworth of pressure on the brain he is buried at Nottingham Church Cemetery,

'Warsop. Died in military hospital, October 3rd. Ernest Warsop the beloved brother of Vina and Beattie. Gone but not forgotten. - Deepest sympathy; also nieces.'
