Family history

Ben Frederick Morris was born in 1890 at Nottingham, he was the son of James a tin plate worker, and Hannah Morris née Fountain and the brother of Maria, Francis, Walter, Annie and George Arthur Morris.

His father James Morris was born in 1841 at Stourport, Worcestershire, his mother Hannah Fountain was born in 1845 at Arnold, Nottingham, they were married in 1870 at Nottingham, they had 6 children.

In 1891 the family lived at 2 Queen's Walk and in 1901 at 63 Wilford Road (both Meadows Nottingham).

The family have to date not been traced in the 1911 census.

Military history

Private Ben Frederic Morris enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 11th battalion Royal Fusiliers, he was taken prisoner 23rd March 1918, Admitted to No 42 Stationary Hospital Courban on 18th November 1918, he died two days later on 20th November 1918 he is buried at Charmes Military Cemetery Essegney Grave Reference: I G 5.
