George Hills was born in 1884 he was the son of George and Mary Hills and the brother of Frederick and Alice Hills.
In the 1911 census he was serving in India with the Northumberland Fusiliers.
He lived on Parliament Street Nottingham.
His effects of £82 14 shillings and 3 pence were left to his sister Alice Taylor wife of Robert Taylor (Probate London 19/10/1916).
George Hills enlisted in Nottingham in 1901 he served with the Northumberland Fusiliers, landing in France on 25th August 1915. He was killed in action on 30th January 1916 and is buried at Ration Farm Military Cemetery, La Chapelle-D'Armentieres grave reference I D 5
Nottingham Evening Post on 18th February 1916 : -
HILLS. – Killed in action, in France, January 30th, C.S.M. Hills, Northumberland Fusiliers, Hermon-street, Nottingham, after 15 years' service.”
