He was the son of Gorge Edward and Harriet Elizabeth Waddoups née Burch and the brother of Arthur, Maggie, Edward, Joseph and Robert Waddoups.
In 1901 they lived on Stanley Road Alfreton.
He was the husband of Ethel Soar (born 1888 at Riddings, Derbyshire, ) they were married in 1908 at Belper, and the father of John James born 1910 at Somercotes, and Evelyn born 1911 Somercotes, Waddoups.
In 1911 they lived on Somercotes Hill Lane, Alfreton. Arthur Waddoups 23 yrs a coal miner onsetter, he is living with his wife Ethel 22 yrs and their children, John James 1 year old and Evelyn under 3 months old.
Private Arthur Fred Waddoups enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 1/5th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action, 1st July 1916, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
