Alma Pryme was born in 1897 at Sutton in Ashfield, he was the son of the late Samuel Alma Pryme a coal miner hewer and Hannah Pryme née Hanson Huskinton and the brother of John Edward Pyme (killed in action 28/9/1917).
His father Samuel Alma was born in 1854 at Sutton in Ashfield he died in 1917 at Suttin in Ashfield, he was 63 yrs old, his mother Hannah Hanson Huskintonwas born in1 1861 at Bingham, she died in 1908 at Mansfield she was 57 yrs of age, they were married on 24th July 1877 at the parish church at Sutton in Ashfield, they went on to have 8 children, sadly 3 were to die in infancy or early childhood.
In the 1911 census the family livied at 3 Cursham Street Sutton in Ashfield, Samuel Alma Pryme 57 yrs is a coal miner hewer and a widow he is living with his sons, John Edward 17 yrs a coal miner horse drawer, and Alma 14 yrs a coal miner horse drawer.
Private Alma Pryme enlisted at Suton in Ashfield, he served with the 19th Bn, Welsh Regiment, he died of wounds on 11th July 1916, he is buried at Morlancourt British Cemetery No.1
His brother Private John Edward Pryme enlisted at Sutton in Ashfield, he died of wounds on 28th September 1917 and is buried at Outtersteene Communal Cemetery Extension, Bailleul Research Peter Gillings
