William Moore was born in 1887 at Sutton in Ashfield, he was the husband of Florence May Moore née Belcher of 37 Hepworth Yard Unwin Road Sutton in Ashfield. they were married in 1909 their marriage was recorded in the Belper Registration District) They had a daughter Minnie born 30th December 1909.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 27 Catherine Street, Alfreton, William Moore 24 yrs s a coal miner, he is living with his wife Florence 19 yrs and their daughter Minnie 1 year old.

Military history

Private William Moore enlisted at Alfreton, he served with the 1/5th battalion, he was killed in action on 11th October 1918, having no known grave his nameis commemorated on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial, France
