Military history

Private Henry Lawson enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Sutton in Ashfield, he served with the 1st battalion Cheshire Regiment, he had initaly served with the service number 70033in the North Staffordshire Regiment. He was killed in action On 2nd September 1918 in France, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial, France.
