Private Ernest King enlisted at Nottingham on 1st November 1904 whilst residing at Sutton in Ashfield, he was a barman, he served with the 1st Battalion The King's Liverpool Regiment, he landed in France on 12th August 1914, he was killed in action on 20th September 1914, at Moissy, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the La Ferte-Sous-Jouarre Memorial, France
