Henry George Lawrence Ginever was baptised on 21st June 1898 at Bow Common Middlesex, he was the son of James William a labourer and Elizabeth Jane Ginever née Walters and the brother of John William, Walter George Ginever and Ruth Mary Ginever ,of London
His father James William was born in 1871 at Nottingham, his mother Elizabeth Jane Walters was born in .1873 at Littlehouse, Middlesex, they were married on 24th February 1894 at Holy Trinitu Church, Tower Hamlets, they had 6 children. 3 of whom were to die in infancy or early childhood.
In the 1911 cenus the family are living at 4 Dunstan Road, Mile End London, James William 40 yrs is a chafff cutter for a corn chandler, he is living with his wfie Elizabeth Jane 38 yrs and their children, John William 14 yrs a shop boy , Henry George Lawrence 12 yrs and Walter George 2 yrs old.
Private Henry George Lawrence Ginever enlisted at Nottingham, whilst residing at Stanton Hill, Notts, he served with the Formerly 105677 Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment) later transferring to the 7th battalion Royal West Surrey Regiment, he was killed in action on 23rd August 1918, he is buried at Beccourt Military Cemetery, France.
His brother Signalman 17092 served with HMS Shark in the Royal Navy, he was killed in action on 31st May 1916 during the battle of Jutland when his ship was sunk.
