Wilbraham Gordon Twemlow was born in 1885 at Manchester
He was the husband of Gertrude Getcliffe (born 27th May 1882 Sneinton) they were married at Manchester 2nd December 1907.
In 1911 they were living at 19 Claremont Street, Manchester, Wilbraham ( Gordon) Twemlow is 26 yrs he is a shirt cutter, he is living with his wife Gertrude 2 7 yrs
In 1914 they lived at 6 Platt Street and Gertrude later moved to 187 Windmill Lane (both Sneinton Nottingham).
Commencing 26th June 1916 his widow was awarded a pension of 10 shillings a week.
Lance Corporal Wilbrahm Twemlow enlisted at Nottingham on 18th December 1914, standing 6' tall and weighing 158 lbs. giving his address as 6 Platt Street, Nottingham and his age as 30 yrs and 9 months he was a warehouseman He joined 23rd December 1914 at Glencourse he was posted 29th Decemner 1914 to the Royal Scots, he landed in France on 11th May 1915 and was promoted lance corporal 28th September 1915 he was killed in action on 7th December 1915, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Ypres Menin gate memorial, Belgium.
