Family history

Edward Alfred Puttock was born in 1888 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late Thomas Walter a groom and Sarah Lavinia Puttock née Lowe of 27 Brougham Street, Nottingham.

His father Thomas Walter Puttock was born in 1844 at Clapham, London he died in 1914 aged 70yrs his mother Sarah Lavinia Lowe was born in 1853 at Mansfield, they were married in 1875 and went on to have 10 children sadly 3 were to die in infancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census his parents and sibinggs are living at 40 Brougham Street, Nottingham, Thomas 67 yrs is a groom, he is living with his wife Sarah 60 yrs and their children, Oliver 19 yrs a labourer and Nellie 14 yrs a lace hand.

In the same 1911 census Edward Alfred Puttock has joined the Army, he is living in barracks in India with his battalion 2nd battalion The King's Liverpool Regiment he is 22 yrs and is a private soldier.

Military history

Lanc Corporal Edward Alfred Puttock enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2nd battalion King' Liverpool Regiment, he died on 14th November 1914, he is buried at Peshawar Cemetery and his name is commemorated on the Delhi Memorial, India.
