Herbert Cartwright was born in 1889 at Nottingham,

He was the husband of Florrie Frettingham (born 23rd February 1889 ) they were married in 1912 at Nottingham, they lived at 207 Castle Boulevard, Nottingham, they had 2 children Herbert Frettingham Cartwrigh born 8th May 1913 and Reginald Cartwright born 3rd June 1914.

Commencing 9th June 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence.

Military history

Driver Herbert Cartwright enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 104th Bty 22nd Brigade Royal Filed Artillery he died of wounds on 29th October 1918 at 23rrd Field Ambulance, Italy, he is buried at Tezze British Cemetery, Italy
