Frank Bagnall was born in 1879 at Nottingham, he was the son of George Bagnall a shoeing smith and Hannah Bagnall née Burke of Nottingham

His father George Bagnall was born in 1841 at Cork, Ireland, his mother Hannah Burke was born in 1843 at Cork, Ireland, they were married in 1861 at Cork, they went on to have 8 children.

In the 1911 census Frank Bagnall is living at 3 Providence Place, Nottingham, he is shown as being 32 yrs single and is a hawker, he is living with William Stones 54 yrs a widow also a hawker, there are a number of hawkers living at this address.

Military history

Private Frank Bagnall enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 9th battalion Leicestershire Regiment, he was killed in action on 29th August 1916, he is buried at Faubourg D'Amiens Cemetery Arras Grave Reference: I. F. 39.
