Family history

Arthur Gilding was born in 1894 at Nottingham,

It is likely that Arthur married Maud Boylstone (born 7th March 1893) in 1916 (Jan/Feb/Mar). Maud was the daughter of William Boylston and in 1911 when she was 18, she was living with her widowed father at 1 Rutland Terrace, Bunbury Street, along with her siblings, Joseph, Leonard and Minnie. She had one other sibling who was not in the household on the night of the census; three other children had not survived childhood. At the time of her husband's death it appears that Maud and her mother-in-law, Rose Gilding, were living together at 18 Wollaton Street, Nottingham (notice in paper). Maud was Arthur's legatee.

Commencing 30th April 1917 his widowed was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week on this date she was living at 32 Healey Street, Meadows, Nottingham.
