Frederick Elery Thompson was born in 1879 at Radford, he was the son of Edward Thompson a lace maker and his first wife the laee Emma Thompson néé Wass.
His father Edward was born in 1845 at Stanley, Derbyshire, his mother Emma Wass was born in 1844 at Radford, she died in 1889 at Nottingha, she was 45 yrs of age, they were married in 1872 at Nottingham, they went on to have 5 children.
His father went on to re marry Lucy Wass born in 1847 at Radford, they were married on 26th December 1889 at Parliament Street Chapel Nottingam.
Frederick was the husband of Annie Amatt (born 25th November 1879) they were married on 27th October 190 at Lenton Priory Church, they lived at 27 Tyne Street, Lenton they had 2 children, Lucy Jane born 27th June 1910 and Frederick Stanley born 14th May 1916.
In the 1911 census the family were living at 3 Napoleon Square Lenton, Frederick Elery 32 yrs is a bobbin and carriage hand, he is living with his wife Annie 31 yrs a sewing machinist, and their daughter Lucy Jane 10 months old.
Commencing 17th May 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence a week
Private Frederick Elery Thompson enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 15th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he died of wounds on 4th November 1917 he is buried at Dozinghem Military Cemetery, Belgium. Plot 13. Row A. Grave 19.
