Charles Page was born in 1884 at Ilkeston, he was baptised on 24th October 1888 at St Marys Church, Ilkeston he was the son of the late Joseph Charles a mechanic and Violetta Page née Warner of Ilkeston.
His father Joseph Charles was born in 1852. at Leicester, he died in 1897 aged 45 yrs his mother Violetta was born in 1852 at Leicester they were married in 1872 at Leicester, they went on to have 8 children.
In the 1911 census the family are living at 16 Belper Street, Ilkeston, head of the family is Stanley Percy 32 yrs a house painer, he is living with his wife Emma Percy née Page and their daughter Emma May Percy 7 yrs of age and mother Violetta Page 63 yrs a widow and mother in law, also living at the address are his two brother in laws, Charles Page 28 yrs single and a twist hand in the lace trade and Thomas Page 32 yrs a collier.
Private Charles Page enlisted at Ilkeston whilst residing at Lenton, Nottingham, he served with the 2/6th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
