Private Emerson Wood enlisted at Derby he served initially with the service number 7020 with the 16th battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps, he was posted to 3rd Bn London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) and was killed in action on 24th August 1918 he is buried at Peronne Road,, Cemetery, Maricourt, France.
