John Browning Sinclair was born in 1883 at Bath, he was the son of Joseph William Sinclair a retired grocer and Emily Sinclair of 7 Thomas Street, Walcot, Bath. they had 8 children,
He was the husband of Elizabeth Sinclair née Durham (born 2nd April 1885) whom he married on 22nd November 1908 at St Paul's Church, Gloucester, they had 2 children John Browning born 30th December 1911 and Georgina born 20th November 1912,
In 1911 they lived at 115 Percival Road Sherwood Nottingham.
Commening 13th May 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence a week.
Lance Corporal John Browning Sinclair enlisted on 21st November 1915 at Nottingham, giving his age as 32 yrs and 3 months, he stated he was a slate enameller, he landed in France on 16th June 1917 and was posted to the York and Lancashire Regiment on 1st July 1917. He was killed in action on 18th October 1917 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
