Henry King was born in 1872 at Holborn, he was the son of George a piano maker and Amelia Emma King née Hale, of 6 Husstridge Villas, St Johns Wood.
His father George was born in 1839 at Holborn, his mother Amelia Hale was born in 1843 at Uxbridge, they were married on 25th October 1859 at St Georges Church, Camden, London, they went on to have 9 children, sadly 5 were to die in infancy or early childhood.
In the 1911 census his oarents are living at 6 Husstridge Villas, St John's Wood, George 72 yrs is a piano maker, he is living with his wife Amelia 69 yrs.
He was the husband of Lilian Alice Sansom (born 5th October 1877 at Stepney, London) whom he married in 1902 at Islington, they had 3 children, Norman Howard born 10th Ovember 1903, Roland Francis born 12th March 1908 and Douglas John born 17th July 1911.
In the 1911 census the family are living at 66 Wiverton Road, Sherwood Rise, Henry 39 yrs an embroidery designer he is living with his wife Lilliam Alice 33 yrs and their children, Norman Howard 7 yrs and Roland Frances 2 yrs of age.
Commencing 5th November 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 26 shillings and 3 pence a week.
Private Henry King enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Sherwood, he served with the 2/7th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he died of wounds on 28th April 1917 and is buried at St Marie Cemetry, Le Harve, France.
