Ernest Ford was born on 8th October 1885 at Carrington, he was the son of Harriett Ann Ford,

His mother Harriett Ann Ford was born in 1870 at Nottingham,

His mother married Alfred William Jacques (born 1867 ) they were married in 1895 their marriage was recorded in the Loughborough registration district. they went onn to have 5 children.

In the 1911 census the family were living at 11 Spring Terrace Carrington Nottingham his mother Harriett Jaques is 41 yrs and is a lace mender, she is living with her children, Ernest Ford 25 yrs a threader, Alfred Jacques 16 yrs, Alexander Jacques 16 yrs, Ada Florence Jacques 7 yrs, James Henry Jacques 5 yyrs and Clarence Jaques 1 year old.

Alfred William Jacques died in 1918 he was 51 yrs old.

His mother later lived at 4 Burgass Place, Carrington.

His pension record card shows his unmarried wife to be Miss M Willcocks of 14 Carlingford Terrace, Hyson Green.

Military history

Private Ernest Ford enlisted on 21st October 1915 at Nottingham, giving his address as 28 Ford Street, Basford, his age was 29 years and 10 months he was a lace factory hand. He was posted to the Army Service Corps, 363rd Mechanical Transport Coy he died on 11th October 1917 at No 4 Casualty clearing station and is buried at Mendinghem Military Cemetery.
