Hezekiah Farnsworth was born in 1884 at Nottingham, he was the son of Isaiah a lace maker and his first wife Jane Ann .

His father Isaiah was born in 1848 at Nottingham, his first wife Jane Ann was born in 1851 at Nottingham, she died in 1886 at Nottingham aged 35 yrs. they had 6 children,

His father remarried Mary Bradley (born 1858 at Ilkeston, they were married on 30th April 1898 at St Johns Church, Carrington, they went on to have 3 children.

In 1911 census the family lived at 39 Marshall Street Sherwood Nottingham, Isaiah 69 yrs is a lace maker, he is living with hs second wife Mary 53 yrs and sons Hezekiah 27 yrs a chauffeur and Henry 15 yrs an errand boy.

Hezekiah married Lucy An Phoenix on 31st August 1914, they lived at 3 Marshall Street, Sherwood, Lucy brought a child to the marriage Dorothy Phoenix born 16th March 1909.

Commencing 14th April 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week.

Military history

Private Hezekiah Farnworth enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 717th Mechanical Transport Coy attached to IX Corps Heavy Artillery he was killed in action on 23rd September 1918
