Family history

Harry Squibb was born in 1883 at Carlton, (however the 1911 census states Notting Hill Gate London) he was the husband of Rose Matilda Wright whom he married on 23rd April 1905 of 12, Fox Hill Road, Carlton, Nottingham.

They had a daughter Sabriena born 12th December 1906, they also adopted a son Albert born 30th June 1903.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 34 Linton Road, Barking, Essex, Harry 27 yrs is a book sellars clerk, he is living with his wife Rose Matilda 33 yrs and their daughter Sabrina 4 yrs he is living with his widowed father Henry 61 yrs a builders handy man and his sister Emma Jane 33 yrs a charwoman.

His father Henry was born in 1851 in Notting Hill Gate, his mother Louisa Squibb née Cole was born in 1851 at Darsham, Surrey, they were married on 24th November 1872 at St James church, Kensington, Middlesex. they had 6 children.

His widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence a week commencing 27th January 1919.

Military history

Rifleman Harry Squibb enlisted at Stratford, Essex, he served with the 18th battlaion King's Royal Rifle Corps, he died of wounds on 23rd July 1918 a gun shot wound which fractured his skull, he is buried at Esquelbecq Military Cemetery France.
