Albert Arthur Chambers was born in 1897 he was the son of Edward Willett a railway guard and Frances Chambers née Wyman and the brother of Ada Lilian and Doris May Chambers of 23 Arthur Street, Netherfield.
His father Eward Willett was born in 1865 at Stamford, Lincolnshire, his mother Frances Wyman was born in 1863 at Sutton they were married on 8th August 1892 at Gretton Northampton, Frances was a widow and brought 3 children to the marriage.
In the 1911 census the family lived at 44 Arthur Street Netherfield Nottingham, Edward Willett 45 yrs is a railway guard, he is living with his wife Frances 47 yrs and their children, Gladys Elsie 17 yrs a general domestic servant, Ada Lillian 16 yrs a hosiery mender, Albert Arthur 14 years a lithographic priner,and Doris 10 yrs a scholar.
Lance Corporal Albert Arthur Chambers enlisted on 28th August 1914 at Nottingham, giving his age as 17 yrs and 180 days his occupation was that of a caller up. Posted to the 8th battalion Lincolnshire battalion, he was promoted to Lance Corporal on 23rd March 1917, he was killed in action on 28th April 1917 during the battle of Arras, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
