Charles Isaac Parke was born on 9th March 1874 at Gainsborough, he was the son of the late Charles William Parke a locomotive engine fitter and his first wife the late Barbara Ann Barrett
His father Charles William was born in 1847 at Norwich, he died in 1917 at Doncaster he was 70 yrs of age, his mother Barbara Ann Barrett was born in 1848 at Beetley, Norfolk, she died in 1875 at Gainsborough she was 27 yrs old they were married on 7th March 1869 at Gressenhall, Norfolk, they had two further childre, John Robert born 1870 died 1919 and George Parke born and died in 1875.
Following the death of his mother his father remarried Mary Ann Grey born 1850 Trusthorpe, Lincolnshire, they were married on 27th June 1878 at Trusthorpe, they had 2 children, Gertrude Mary born 1883 and George Sidney born 1888.
In the 1911 census the family are living at 22 Mill Street, Doncaster, Charles William Parke 60 yrs is a locomotive engine fitter he is living with his second wife Mary Ann 58 yrs and their son George Sidney Parke 22 yrs single, a merchants clerk.
Charles Isaac Parke, married Annie Goodband ( 1st July 1875,) they were married on 4th April 1899 at St Ann's, Nottingham, they lived at 50 Highfield Road, West Bridgford, the had a daughter Barbara Dulcie Barratt Parke born 6th March 1902 at Stamford, Lincolnshire. they had a further child, Hilda born and died in 1904.
In the 1911 the family were living at Park Hill Awsworth, Charles Isaac 38 yrs is a colliery blacksmith he is living with his wife Annie 36 yrs and their daughter Barbara 9 yrs of age,
Commencing 21st January 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week.
Shoeing smith Charles Isaac Parke enlisted at Ilkeston whilst residing at West Brigford, he served with the 238th Coy 37th Reserve Park Royal Army Service corps, he died on 12th July 1917 of pericarditis (heart problem) in Greece, he is buried at Salonika (Lembet Road) Military Cemetery
