Family history

Reginald Arthur Gregg was born in 1891 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late Thomas a plumber and his second wife Emily Page of 97 Arkwright Street Meadows Nottingham.

His father Thomas was born in 1850 at Sutton in Ashfiled, he died in 1911 aged 61 yrs his mother Emily Page was born in Flint Wales, in 1864 they were marrieid on 4th October 1890 at Christ Church Radford.

His father's first marriage was to Sarah Ann Ball (born 1850 at Mansfield), she died in 1890 at Nottingham, they had 8 children.

He was the step brother of Thomas (b.1873), Sarah Ann (b.1878), Florence ( b.1880), Ruth (b.1884), Harold Alexander (b.1887) and Claude Victor (b.1889) Gregg. Claude Victor was killed in action 25/5/1916.

His step siblings' mother Sara Ann Gregg (née Ball) died in 1890 aged 39 and his parents married later that year.

Reginald Arthur Gregg married Ada Ward (born 20th June 1891) they were married on 18th February 1915 at Christ Church, Radford, Nottingham they lived at 68 Ilkeston Road, Nottingham.

Commencing 26th November 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military history

Private Richard Arthur Gregg enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 11th Bn Duke of Cambridge's Own Middlesex Regiment, he was killed in action of 12th May 1917 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
