Family history

Colin Dunbar Fisher was born in 1880 at Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland, he was he the son the late Thomas a superintendent at inland revenue office and Janet Fisher née Dunbar of 84 Mona Road West Bridgford Nottingham.

His father Thomas was born in 1845 at Hull, his mother Janet Dunbar was born in 1855 at Latheron, Caithness, they were married on 20th October 1875 at Latheron, Caithness, they went on to have 7 children, sadly 1 was to die in infancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 84 Mona Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, Thomas 66 yrs is working for the inland revenue, he is living with his wife Janet, and their children, Katerine 28 yrs a clerk typist, Margaret23 yrs a clerk typist and Benjamin William 21 yrs an insurance clerk.

Military history

Corporal Colin Dunbar Fisher enlisted at Nottingham, he served with 'O' Cable Section, Royal Engineers, he died of wounds on 17th July 1917 at the 47th casualty clearing station, Belgium, he is buried at Dozinghem Military Cemetery
