Clifford Day was born in 1899 he was baptised on 7th May 1899 at Headless Cross parish church, Warwickshire, he was the son of Frederick a fitter and Mary Ann Day of Headless Cross, Warwickshire. He was the brother of Frederick T Day of 10 Curtis Grove Wilford Road Nottingham.

In the 1911 census he is living at 90 Birchfield Road, Headless Cross, Redditch, he is living with his uncle and aunt, William Powell 43 yrs a house painter and Alice Powell Clifford is 12 yrs and a scholar.

Military history

Private Clifford Day enlisted at Birmingham whilst residing at Wobheath Redditch, he served with the 4th battalion Yorkshire Regiment, he died of dysentry on 7th September 1918 he is buried at Berlin South Western Cemetery, Germany.
