Walter Bull was born in 1894 at Nottingham, he was the son of Arthur Bernal Bull a tram conductor and his first wife the late Saran Ann Bull née Chapman. he was the brother of Ada, Henry and Nora Bull.
His father Arthur Bernal Bull was born in 1867 at Lenton, his mother Sarah Ann Chapman was born in 167 at Basford, they were married in 1890 at Nottingham, they a futher child, Ada Bull born in 1896.
Following his mother death his father re married in 1914 at Nottingham to Sarah Widdowson born 1863 at Nottingham, they had a son Henry born 1904.
In the 1911 census the family lived at 8 Bayford Cottages Bathley Street and later 7 Sabina Terrace (both Nottingham) In the 1911 census Arthur Bernal Bull 44 yrs is a widow, he is a tram conductor, he is living with his children, Walter 16 yrs a butchers assistant, Ada 14 yrs an errand girl and Henry 6 yrs also living with them is Sarah Dable, 48 yrs a widow and a housekeeper.
Private Walter Bull enlisted at Shirehampton, Gloucestershire, he served with the 14th battallion Northumberland Fusiliers , he was killed in action on 27th May 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial
