Albert Percy Turner was born in 1891 at Nottingham, he was the son of Henry Turner a decorator house painter and Emma Kate Turner née Meakin of Hall Croft Main Street Bulwell Nottingham.
His father Henry was born in 1862 at Nottingham his mother Emma Kte Meakin was born in 1862 at Nottingham, they were married on 16th July 1881 at St Ann's parish church, Nottingham, they had 7 children,sadly 2 were to die in childhood or infancy.
In the 1911 census the family are living at 59 Hunger Hill Road, Nottingham, Henry 49 yrs is a decorator house painter he is living with his wife Emma Kate49 yrs and their children, Henry James 28 yrs a cabinet maker, Mable Alice 26 yrs a blouse machinist, Ernest George 25 yrs a wood machinist, Albert Percy a cabinet maker andHerbert Frederick 18 yrs a decorator.
Private Albert Percy Turner enlisted at Derby he served with 1/5th battalion Northumbrland Fusiliers, he died on 10th April 1918 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial.
