Harry Deacon was born in 1892 the son of the late Albert a lace curtain maker Ellen Deacon née Bennett and the brother of Mabel, Albert, John George and Nellie Deacon.
Albert was born in 1871 at Basford he died prior to 1911, Ellen Bennett was born in 1870 at Sutton in Ashfield, they were married in 1890 at Nottingham and had 5 children.
In 1911 the family at 57 Brushfield Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham Ellen 41 yrs is a widow she is living with her children, Harry 19 yrs a lace trade threader, Mable 17 yrs a levers lace trade drawer, Albert 12 yrs, John George 8 yrs and Nellie 5 yrs of age.
Private Harry Deacon enlisted at Nottingham, he was killed in action on 26th September 1915 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
