Leslie Attersall was born in 1897 at Nottingham, he was the son of Thomas a warper and Ada Attersall née Colville and the brother of Stanley Attersall of Harcourt Street, Forest Fields, Nottingham.
His fatherThomas was born in 1861 at Nottingham, his mother Ada Colville was born in 1866 at Liverpool, they were married on 6th June 1892 at LentonPriory Chuch, Nottingham, they had further son Stanley born 1908 at Nottingha,
In the 1911 census the family lived at 115 Harcourt Street Forest Fields Nottingham, Thomas 50 yrs is a warper, he is living with his wife Ada 45 yrs and their children, Leslie 13 yrs a scholar and Stanley 3 yrs of age.
Private Leslie Attersall enlisted at Nottingham he served with 'C' Coy 2nd battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, he was killed in action on 23rd August 1918 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial
